If your talking about the gasket in between the block and the exhaust manifold, i got aqoute for mine and it was like 150-200 each side. I ended up doing it with a friend and only paid like 30 bucks (parts) for it. Do it yourself, not that hard at all, just a PITA to get in there and loosen everything up.

Sounds more like your exhaust manifold. A headgasket won't make your car sound loud and bad but the exhaust gasket will. What year model do you have?

Yea, do it yourself, some shops charge out the wazoo and it doesn't even take them all that long with a lift. It will take you around 3 hours to do, because you'll have to work from both the top and bottom. It's not hard at all, just a few bolts, but the cramped space is what makes it challenging.

like everyone said it shouldnt take that long overall. but have fun getting the manifold bolts off. unless car car has been kept from rain, and isnt very old, likely theyre rusted on there and may need to be torched off.
