The old trick with pure acetone is still up on the table and a very real fact on the car I tested it on (a good old '94 Ford Taurus.) Got +30% MPG on that car, but I wouldn't dare touch it in my gas tank with my baby stang.

Trick is 0.02% acetone/fuel mixture (2-3 fl. ozs in a full tank.)

If you wanna try it then be my guest. All I know is it WORKED on my Taurus so that's why I'm not regarding it as myth.

+ I had some major horsepower increases. 130HP to what felt like +20. I can't determine that to be true because I didn't dyno a Ford Taurus (who would?) but it sure as hell felt like it.

Some free things you can do is make sure your tires are inflated properly, take out the spare tire and jack, and take out any useless junk that adds weight. If you're on the freeway use cruise control from 55-65mph and your mileage will increase. That's all I have.

change all your fluids and lubricants
change all your filters
change all your belts
change your plugs/wires
run some seafoam through the car
raise your tire pressures

if your car needs that stuff, like mine did, then you could see about 5mpg. Mine went from 12mpg to 17mpg.

Obviously slow starts and slow stops...but who doesnt like to hear a dual cat exhaust?

The v6's seem like they should get some decent gas mileage but I came to realize that the 3.9L packed under the hood is a hog

Im starting to look for things i can do to free up weight too. Like on my older cars/trucks evrything is heavy as ****, even stuff that doesnt have to be. So i cut it out, and replaced it with aluim, or left it out. When i replaced it i used about a 1/8 less for small things like brakets. My bumper brakets on my galaxie weigh a ton. Not sure what i can do to this one yet. Tubuar K-arm, Prolly take out my rear seat because none of my friends can fit back there anyways.

Other thing is, im looking for a cheaper car for summer, and keep the mustang for weekends. 1995 Probe 5sp 2.0l for $600.

Lets face it, Gas will never be below $2.50 again. Prices are just gona keep going up, i bet ya in 3 years it will be around $6 a gallon, and we will keep payin it too.

And Ryan! Since your the oil worker... Why the **** are we shipping so much US oil out of the US, i never noticed untill just now. Also maybe you should work harder and faster and get us more oil, cheaper. Let our kids worry about prices
