Default Stupid Question. Sorry.

I expect to get flamed for this question so bring it on. Im ready.

Snow is coming. My idea was to buy a car cover, cover the car when it snows so the snow wont be on my car, on the cover. All I do is push the snow off of the cover and uncover and WALAAAAAH its done. Someone told me that is a bad idea because the cover may freeze to the car and rip the paint off. Is this true? Bad idea? Flame awayyyyy

Its defintely possible. Watercovers are never 100% waterproof, and so then you'll probably get some water underneath, which will freeze, and then your cover is frozen to the car. I doubt it would rip your paint off, but it would make taking the cover off a bitch and a half.

I"ve heard of people putting cardboard on their winshield, and then just pulling it off when they're ready to leave, but I highly doubt that works.

I'm fromt he south though, so I don't know jack about winter weather stuff.

Ya you're from the south.. How about you just rub it in some more!!! Im going to go to sleep tonight and wake up to friggen 8 inches of snow!!! Do you know tall tires are on your stang? About a foot n 4 inches or something (using the ruler in my head) tires dont want to move when there is that much snow. So you can take your nice weather in the south and shove it

I hate the south dude. (I'm fixin' to get flamed for that, lol)

I'm moving to Canada for college, you have no idea how much I love the cold weather. My nickname is Eskimo, if that helps you any.

OMG YOU NEWB, HOW SIMPLE IS THIS question!!! WHATS WRONG WITH YOU??
Just kiddin. It should Chip out paint. When your not using the cover keep it inside. Only need to cover it overnight. If anything it will scratch youre gloss, if its a cheaper cover. This is a good idea. Also look for a carwash that will do ONLY Underbody wash. I would do that every week if i drove my stang. All that salt!!

Well i understand its not going to keep my car perfectly clean. I just want it on when we have a big snowstorm so I dont have to spend an hour to get the snow off. Just scrape it off the cover with a broom and BAM its done. I don't see it doing any huge damage to it. I guess I will find out tomorrow huh.

As far as wanting to move to Canada...Uh dude, you move to my house, ill move to your house. We'll pull some "holiday" (chick movie, dont ask ) and we can live happily ever after.

02Mustang - any more pics of your car, I have wanted to put the stickers down the door side but neer thought I would like it. We have the same color and i want to see it up close.

haha. Why yes, we're bigger than France. And don't give me that "Alaska is bigger than Texas" BS, nobody ****ing lives in Alaska, so it doesn't count. We could swallow the entire Northeast.

Regardless, I still hate the weather here, which is the main reason I'm moving up north, but if it was 10 degrees outside and snowing right now, I'd happily live here.

But it ain't.

I would be carefull brushing it off with a broom. That might do more damgae, If you were to just take off the cover and shake it off......

Your more of a brighter red. I agree, i think without it it is way too plain. At first i was going to take it off, but it grew on me
