Sprinkler-Like Noise
Hey guys, when ever the car is idling or moving I get this sprinkler-like sound coming from under the car, I'm pretty sures it's the cats, does anybody else know what it might be?
it not the catz it's (assuming you have the 99-04) the stock exhaust manifold/header deals leaking from where yoruAC has dripped on them the only way to fix it would either be to weld the crack or get some headers (im getting my headers very soon to fix this problem)
Mac longtube headers run between 250-350 depending on the coating you want on them. Those are the only headders worth buying imo. I got some exhaust manifolds off a 2002 with no cracks/damage, send me a pm if you want them.
Are these good?

Is that a decent price? Should I try to find one used? Will there have to be modifications made to fit my exhaust system? Thanks for the help

Mac is the only that makes long tube headers for 3.8.
You will need a mid pipe like this http://www.lmperformance.com/7349/86.html.

Are you guys sure it's the headers? My cousin had a civic (yes I know, I have a mustang) he had the same noise, except it was to a higher extent and it was his cat.
Also, I'd like to add that I just bought this 02 mustang and gas seem pretty bad... a 1/4 tank a day going maybe 20 miles tops... I think it is the cats; somebody enlighten me

an exhaust shop should be able to defintiely tell you if it is either the cats or the header leak. probably tell you in a couple of minutes. try that. and if it is one or the other, they can fix either. but yeah, if its the headers, go with the long tubes.
