Default Rear brakes

Getting ready to do my rear brakes in a few days. Wondering if there isaway to turn the piston back in without buy/renting the tool? From what I understand theyre a b1tch to turn back in the caliper, and thats with the tool. But Ive heard there is a way to do it without the tool (not easier by less expensive) by using something like a regular pair of pliers. Is this true?

You can usually get the tools for free from some parts stores, you just have to leave a deposit.

hes right

at autoparts i deposited $100 dollars and they gave me the full set, returned it and got my money back. pretty sweet deal if you ask me. i tried to toil with needle nose and two screw drivers and bah, not worth it. just fork over the deposit money, its a lot easier, i assure you.

Tool is expensive to rent, its like 45 bucks ****ing ridicilous. Just get 12 inch pliers from auto zone for like 10 bucks and turn them. But before you turn them, loosen the nut in the back of the caliper above the springs to release some of the oil out when you're compressing it back in there. If you dont theres a chance you'll **** up the caliper. I forgot what its called so itd be nice if someone helpd out.

if you put a large c clamp on them and have someoen else crank it while your turning with the pliars they go in a lot quicker and easier (obviously make sure the part of the c clamp that pivots is on the side your turning)
