doesn't it depend on what year the cars are? it seems like the v6 mustangs go up in power and performance every generation. i would imagine the camaro would to.

They are comparing the same performance generations. Basically the Camaro has been faster than the Mustang in all segments for awhile. lol

Does anyone know if a all stock 2002 V6 Mustang with a five speed manual will beat a 2000 all stock V6 Chevy camaro with an automatic? Just curious.
Thanks, Mike
All of the comparisons in the V6 categories between the Mustang and the Camaro came out in favor of the Mustang with respect to acceleration.

It's the V8 category that the catfish had nailed down.

Thats not true event he 3400 will put up a fight for a split port 3.8... the 3800 is ahead but not buy much. [stock-vs-stock]

Eh. All the mag racing I remember seeing in those days and my own experience, equal drivers, equal drive trains (stock), mustang will win.
0-60 is about the same 7-7.5 seconds but the split port breathes better than the GM intake/head so in the quarter the mustang wins 60-70+. Both in time and trap speed.

wrong.....and wrong

the 3.8 came into the camaros in 96, with the exception of cali models which had them in 95, the 93 and 94s had the 3.4s, which would take down a single port still, and get edged out by a split port, the 3.8 will take a split port, and a 3.4 with FWD heads.... a semi common swap like the split port swap, will hand 4.0s their asses and can rev over 7 grand as well

Y87 3.8/fwd swaped 3.4s = fair game or edge to s197s

thats true from what i have seen. it seems like a lot of younger people who don't have a lot of cash and want something to mess around with get one. it kinda makes sense i guess cuz the v6 isn't murrder when it comes to insurance and they seem cheap. i'm gessing they are cheap because they don't make them anymore so the ones still on the road usually have high milage or need some work done to them. (cuz they are a bit older) that plus they don't seem to be very practical for year round driving. it kind of makes it a practical car for younger ******** IMO.

not saying people who drive mustangs aren't like that but mustangs seem more practical for day to day driving so more mature adults looking for a fun car drive them. but im just saying that in general from what i have seen. im sure there are lots of nice ppl with camaros, unfortunatly i haven't seen any of them yet.

sry for the spelling.
