Default Mustang V6 2004 Problem

I have weird problems with my car. First of all, my car stalls sometime when I’m on neutral. Second of all, when my car is hot, I feel like it looses power. When I’m racing with a friend, and the car is not so hot, I can beat him easily. But when it is hot I can’t seem to have the same effect.

Can anyone help me?

first off if you mechanical problems take it to a dealer thats what the warranty is for and the second part about you racing....this is at a track of course right? and its a proven fact that a cooler engine will have more hp i doubt with the puney 193hp stock that you would feel the difference from a hot and warm engine.....

Well, you said it's stalling in neutral. That can be a MAF problem which can also cause a problem when the car is hot because of false signals to the computer. #1. Make sure there are no open arears between the air intake tube sections. #2. make sure the air cleaner is clean and the air box lid is on correctly. But like Slego said, it's under warranty, go bish like a moe foe at the dealer.

Right, just because the dealer can't find the problem, doesn't mean you have to live with it. It's kinda like me selling you something and it doesn't work and me telling you that you're SOL. Would you live with that? I sure as hell wouldn't. But it definately sounds like a MAF problem, or maybe an EGR problem. Check those two things out first.

I noticed that too. I think cuz its the v6 tho... Sometimes it feels like theres more power than other times. I dont know why tho... But one of the worst things you can do to a car is run it hard when the engine is cold. My car seems to perform best when i let the car sit and warm up for a few minutes...

actually on a stock block it's not too terrible to "play" with your car, but if you have your engine bored, then you're playing with fire because your walls are thinner and you could possibly crack you block, but on a stock block you have nothing to worry bout. Unless you're driving a cheby, then either way you're just screwed!!! [sm=insomnia.gif]
