the kit has pretty detailed instructions. it's not hard to do. just make sure the ball valves don't shoot out into some unkown place when you take the valve body off. those little suckers can really launch from their seat. they have some pretty good springs under them

advice- have a TON of catlitter, rags, wear things you wont care about ruining...

and now matter how many precautions you take, be prepared to taste and be covered in tranny fluid

Yeah be prepare to bump **** load of oil from the tranny. I really suggest you leave it up to the pros for install especially if you never worked on a tranny before. I have one and absolutely love it. It shifts quick and firm. Its a second best mod done to my car after the 4.10s. I got mine installed when I did a full tranny rebuilt but it usually costs about 180-250 for install

sorry this is not an exact answer, but I did the J-mod. fast, with regular tools (well you need a 1/4" torque wrench for the valve body bolts...)

And like others say be ready to accept a lot of ATF. A bunch in the valve body and it just keeps draining forever. As a result you need a lot of fluid to put back in.

The J-mod is a fully assembled valve body swap. No screwing around. And the result is a noticeable improvement in shift <<<tightness>>>

I love it. I got the intake spacer at same time for a discount. From VAP. Actually I did the spacer first and believe it or not I could tell a small but perceptable difference.

best o luck

transgo for Ford here:
http://www.transgo.com/sk_ford.php
our tranny is sixth down under "SK®AODE (4R70W)"
(good God man I hope you have heard of Google!)

I don't know how to compare the two since I don't have experience with Transgo, but I can only offer my very favorable experience with J-mod.

there are older posts that do compare them... a search will reveal.
