and if you think you may go with nitrous or a blower in the future you will need an 8.8 at that point anyways. if not then a posi on the 7.5 will be fine

yes you can find entire 8.8 assemblies for cheap. i saw for 650$ the other day a 8.8 rear end with 31 spline axles and 4:10's installed on craigslist. way too far of a drive for me to want to pick it up though and shipping would suck.

It Looks Like It Might Be Easier To Buy A Gt Rear End....
And Have A Shop Install It....

I have done both to my cars and i highly recommend doing a whole axle swap. It was much easier imo...all you gotta do is lower the rear take off the control arms and pull it out and replace it.....changing the internals on a rear can be very tricky and also dangerous.....go with the axle swap

well i found my 04 gt 8.8 with a 3.73 for $250 at a swap meet at beech bend...but i have also seen them for $800.....but you want to make sure you get a rear end with a 3.55/3.73/or 4.10 gear in it becuase if its any higher than those then you would just be gaining posi. You would eventually want to put a lower gear in it then you would have to mess with it internally.

Ok I Found A Cheap T-Lock On Ebay
Will THis Make Me Posi? And Is That All I Will Need?
first off it's for an 8.8 axle. secondle it's an open differential just like your 7.5 stock differential.the guy calls it a 31 spline open positraction differential.

then he says it not a posi. it isn't a posi. it's open and i am quite sure it isn't 31 spline and open

junk.

i don't like the T-lok but if your not planning on much power and have an auto you will be fine with the 7.5 t-lok

www.gefracing.com has the cheapest price on them

I Might Put A Turbo In This Spring..So I Might Have To Go With The 8.8 I Don't Want To Mess With Internals. But Don't You Have To Take The Suspension Off When Putting In The New Axle?

A T-Lock is a brand of POSI... That is for an 8.8 you need one for a 7.5. How much HP do you plan on going for?

Ryan has a Used T-Lock and 4.10 gears
Not anymore. i had actually sold it while I was offshore, but when I got home to take it out the center pin bolt had broken. It wasn't an issue for driving if someone bought the whole rear, but when i went to cut it to take it out, it just became a mess. There was no way to keep the shavings out of the diff, and I just couldn't sell a rear end full of metal to anyone. Even if I could have cleaned it out, I still wouldn't have felt comfortable letting someone else put it in their car. I ended up junking the whole rear end.

I did recently find a stock rear end for my car though lol. I just need to pull it off the car I found and stick it in storage, the car also has the engine block I need for the 4.3 build. My stock of spare parts has dwindled down to 2 spare set of wheels (1 set of Bullitts, 1 set of 17" GT's), 17x10.5 Termi wheels with 315 NT555R's, stock headlights, projectors with a scuff on one, and little odds and ends. No more collection of rear ends, sway bars, springs, brakes, and all that other stuff. It's so sad

I plan to have my stock of spare parts built bac kup by summer though. I'm gonna go to auction friday and see if I can buy a couple of wrecked stangs and start gutting them. I'm stuck offshore right now though.
