Default 3.8 engine help!

hi,
I have searched for a while and seen people who had simliar probs but haven't seen a solution.
I have had my mustang for about a week. I was really impressed how much power it had when i got it. It would pretty much stay on the rev limiter through 1st and get a great second.
but while driving down the highway a couple days ago i noticed when i downshift and get the rpms up near 4000 it would kinda smother out. Now today on my way to work i tried spinning it on a wet road as soon as i backed out of the driveway, it went to 6000 and stayed. When i got to work it wouldn't even make it to 4000. Just like half of its power is turned off.
So far i have changed the fuel filter, plugs, coil, egr valve(with a flat 4 pin connector and the big vac hose and small one). When i drive it up the a genesyis? OBD2 at idle the fuel pressure is 35-36 and when rpms get to 4000 ish the fuel pressure drops to 16-17.
Also today in 5th gear when really bogged down it would cut out majorly.
If anyone has ideal what i should do i wouldappreciate any advise i could get.
thanks
Barry

Props on being new and using the search feature (I'm being serious.... so many can't figure it out.)

Idle fuel pressure is about right, but at the low end. Could be something causing the fuel pump to lose voltage at higher rpm... I'd check for loose wires.
