Default Idle

Okay I did searching and people have a similiar problem.
When very cold my idle will be around 1,
but when i have been driving etc it will be like 600.
I heard there is a way to adjust the idle to make it higher? how do I do so?
sometimes it knocks from 600 down to 500 and makes the car shake a little, its annoying but doesn't happen too often.

thnx for the help!

It could be your IAC (Idle Air Control) valve is not opening enough. If it was totally bad it would choke out your engine. You could try cleaning it with some carb cleaner. Maybe even replace the gasket. Could be your plugs and wires need replacing. Good luck.

my car used to drop idle and shake a bit. this was only when i went to the city, 2 hours away, and had to sit at a red light. i changed my plugs and it fixed the problem. it is normal for your idle to be at a grand when cold, mine goes to 1250 for 15-20 seconds then drops down to a grand. normal idle rpm is around 750-850.

Just do some routine maintenance on it. Put some engine cleaner in it, new plugs, oilchanges etc. etc. stuff like this always helps your engine out. I basically need a whole tune-up on mine but that will have to wait for a month or so.
