Hi all

the car was running perfectly,shifts were smooth not prior problems. i was driving along a straight road doing like 45-50 in 4th not even shifting i pull up to a light and i put the clutch in and it feels weird then i smell a faint burning. as i put the clutch in, it feels weird like slighly harder to push in like im pushing it through something. i made it home, and with the car off clutch feels like normal when i start it it feels bad, and when depressed i can hear a whine. is this the clutch gone bad.

Sounds like you need to replace your throwout bearing.

 

Hi the car is drivable and the clutch still grabs but when i depress the clutch i hear a whurring and the clutch smokes. Is this the throwout bearing? Also if it is this the car has 80k on it should i just replace the clutch as well?

Yeah, replace everything. Too much work not to do the clutch while everything is apart. Resurface the flywheel as well, it's cheap or you can do that yourself as well if youhave the tools. I love 5 speeds but man, I hate doing clutches! [:@]
