Default single 2 dual

I have v6er and want to change it over to dual exhaust. My boyfriend however said that doing that will make it sound like a lawn mower/ricer. Would it really be that bad sounding?? Plus I have headers on it...if i change over will the headers interfere with anything?

Depends on your setup.
longtube or shorty headders? I doubt it.

You're boyfriend is an idiot. Most Mustang owners go to dual exhaust and MOST sound great. Look around the forums for different posts on exhausts and get some ideas from there. And, as far as the headers, it all depends what you want to do with it.

They won't interfere with anything. Get dual exhaust.

Definitely go duals. Ive got an 02 sixer with short headers and a dual exhaust. They dont sound ricey at all! My friend has a v6 jetta and put on a new exhaust and we sat in a parking lot reving our engines for a whole bunch of people and my car was favored hands down cause it sounds almost like a v8. One guy thought it was a cobra, but i dont think he was very smart.Where his sounded like a ricer.

just out of curioisty, why did you get the headers first, and keep the cat back stock? most people do it the other way around. not knocking ya, just curious. and nah, your bf is incorrect, though i guess everything is subjective. search on youtube for v6 mustang exhaust, and you can determine whehter or not it sounds good or bad.

Does your boyfriend have anImportby chance? Is he jealous of how good your car is going to sound?
Some V6's sound bad but for the most part they sound decent. Make sure you get true duals not just an exhaust system stuck on your stock Y pipe.
