What would you guys recommend to mod my 2003 3.8L V6 stock mustang coupe. I want it to go a bit faster but what would you recommend for a $1,000 budget? Is there much I can do?

i heard the mod ship is good for a automatic...

I'd go with gears and dual exhaust if you can get that all for $1000
Gears might all together be something like 600-700 after installation perhaps, in that case, id maybe get a chip, but dual exhaust is one of the first mods any v6er should do imo.

its an automatic btw.....and whats a "mod ship". soirry im pretty new to car modding

 

i believe a mod ship is either something made up or a typo. you can get a tuner/chip for your car, however, and that will firm up shifts and do other various but pretty much useless tasks. maybe get a tuner, gears, and trac-lok so then you can use the tuner for firming up shifts and recalibrating for the rear end gears. just a thought...

... a chip also can change and or eliminate shift points, rev and top speed governors. A V6 Mustang shouldn't shift until 6K rpm when your romping on it...... in my opinion.

 

i dunno...what's in randomly declaring that you have dual exhaust?
