question about the AIC and Engine wash
Hello eveyone, I need some help here, I got a 1995, mustang V6 and It is doing some weird things since I WASHED the engine, the check engine light came on and it revs too high, it goes up to 3000rpms, with out me pushing the gas, and so I went and checked the AIC and the connections were a lil dirty so took the wires of the plug and now I don't know where each wire goes can anyone tell me where they go??? wich color goes on the to and wich on the bottom, and can any one tell me what happened with my car??? a car wash messed it up!, thanks in advance
Well cuaj, I'm assuming you are talking about the Idle Air Control (IAC). It is very possible that washing your engine could have temporarily effected it and I'll tell you why. If you get alot of water in your intake or soak your air filter, it will cause your air intake to slow down and make your computer activate the choke which is temporary untill the moisture clears. The other thing that happens on an older engine with an IAC, is the water mixes with the build up in the IAC valve and makes a sludge that makes the valve stick. You can take it off and spray the shizzz out of it with carb cleaner to free it up, and clean the wire connection.
Now your asking which wire goes where. I thought the IAC is a block/plug? How did you get the wires out individually? I'll look on my car later and get back to you.

This reminds me of the bash I got for saying to cover wired stuff when washing. As you can see, in the future it's probably a good idea to do it. Usually the stuff will dry out too, so pulling everything apart isn't a good idea either, unless you know EXACTLY how to put it back.

Mine may look a little different then yours, but looking from the passenger side fender, the white is on top and the red on the bottom. Good luck.
