Default New to everything ANYONE HELP?

I just bought a mustang off my brother. Its a 2000 V6, and he was the original owner and he put 85,000 miles on it and he sold it to me for $2500. Not a bad deal if i do say so my self.

What help im looking for is what can i do to give her some pep without dumping loads of cash in right away. I know i could do exaust, CAI, and stuff like that but im looking for specifics. Like brand, place to get it. I dont want her to sound like a tuner, ricer, crap box. I want her to SOUND mean!! Going fast ant as important to me right now as making people think it might be fast. I do major mods later down the road. MY WANTS=cheap, great sound, maybe a little pep.

go to summitracing and buy 2 force pro series mufflers 2.25" offset in/2.25" offset out. take the car and mufflers to a shop and have them bend and weld up a dual exhaust. then if you really want, it wont do you much, you can go to ebay and find a CAI, they are all the same really so an ebay wont differ from anything else.

Exhaust should be first on your list then.Upgrade every part for the best sound.People say CIA's make their exhaust sound a little bit louder.
Gears are a execlent torque adder,it will really wake up your v6.
Past that though, i would be looking into a H/C/I swap, and then boost of course.

gears wont add torque. they just make the engine rev faster getting your into the powerband faster. you will accelerate faster but it wont add any power to the car.

I agree totally, you'll have less than 300 bucks into the exhaust system and will sound and feel a bit better. As for the ebay Cold Air Intake thing, I would go with a K&N drop in and remove the ugly rubber silencer! If you are really dead set on a CAI, go with a Mac, there expensive, but they look oh so nice! Good Luck and congrats on the car, hell of a deal for 2500 bucks!

BBK > MAC lol.

Anyways, if you really want a mean exhaust system and don't want to run the risk of a shop half assing your exhaust, as what happened to a member on here, and you want your car to sound truely mean, then get long tube headers, a h pipe made for the long tubes, and your choice of catback (Flowmasters sound good with LTs, and I'll let you know in a few days how Mags sound when me and 02stang make some sound clips). Do that and you'll not only gain a nice bit of power but you'll deffinitly have a much more aggressive sound.

I think BBK and MAC CAI's are roughly the same amount regarding price. You are right, BBK and MAC's are the best on the market. Personally, I wouldn't waste the money on either one for the gain u get. If I wanted something shiny I guess it would be worth it.

P.S Go Team RAM ROD!!
