well i work at a shop and alls i have to say is that it is cheaper to get a system custom made but it would be even easyer and prolly cheaper well at least at my shop if you bought just the over axle pipes because they are a bitch to bend so if you could get them and just have to pay us for a muffler if you dont have one and the fab of the mid pipe and welding the tips on it would be much better and cheaper because most of your labor in fabbing exhaust is bending the over axle pipe because you have to make atleast 30 bends bend it once test fit it bend it again test fit it and so on
To get the best sound don't get a V6 catback system. The cheapest route, although not always the best quality route, is to have a shop fab up the exhaust for you by having them cut your exhaust just behind the cats and by running dual pipes to the end (true duals, V6 kits are not). Only problem is you have to put A LOT of faith into the shops work. My buddy, who has a post on this forum about his little episode, had a shop fab up his, needless to say, he's doing it over again with all aftermarket name brand parts because a 2 year old could of done a better job of fabing that thing up, but yet again, that's the risk you take. As far as actual set ups go, a lot, and I mean a lot of people are going to say Flowmaster simply because that's all they know. Me I don't like going with the crowd and getting the same thing everybody else does, but yet again, that one is up to you. Browse the forum over, there are tons of threads about exhaust and what sounds like what. I have just posted a vid up, although not the best, in the off topic V6 and 5.0 sections, granted the vid is of my 5.0, but the tone of the exhaust would be similar on a sixer, just a sixer is going to have a even fire higher pitched sound.

It has nothing to do with "all people know" its just what sounds best on the cars period.
