i have a 94 manual v6 mustang with a few upgrades, flowmaster dual exhaust, cold air intake, strut tower bar, and many visuals but i was wondering which would be better to get a short throw shifter or some underdrive pulleys, and what advantages does each one have i dont know know too much about them.

 

dude youd be better off saving and getting some 3.73 or 4.10 gears. short throws and underdrive pulleys barely do anything for the cars except make them look a little better. youd be better off with the gears so you can take the most advantage out of your manual transmission. gears and a limited slip differential lol

 

lol yeah pullies and short throws are just silly appearence mods..

 

short throw shifter is agreat mod. especially if you don't have much done to your stang. makes daily driving much easier. underdrivepullies won't do a whole lot for you. most people will vouch that gears and a t-lok give you the best "bang" for your buck. However, it's all up to what you want.

 

Short shifter is a much better mod. The slushy stock shifter that comes in our cars, and is even worse in the 05+ models, just can't compare to the advantages of a short shifter.

 

++1111 about the short throw. I have a 95 and the stock shifter sucks big time. Get a Tri Axe short throw, easy to install, good quality, feels really good.

ok so possibly the short throw but does anyone have a good website for the gears and which is better 3.73 or 4.10? and the underdrive pulleys say they add about 15-20 hp im guessing thats bull****

 

americanmuscle.com is a great website. they carry a ton of stuff at great prices for mustangs, plus they dont charge for shipping.

 

I'd go with 3.73's if i were you. and if you plan on going FI then I definitely recommend 3.73's.
