Default CAI Question

Im thinking about buying a CAI from americanmuscle.com and they have their own one that they made and then they have a ll the branded ones. Im just wondering if there is any big difference in like HP gains from them or anything else? Or are you just paying more for the name brand?

No real difference in power, but quality wise...........well you get what you pay for. Unless you're going for the "bling" effect of a show car, just buy a K&N filter, and remove the air silencer. Did it on the 00 sixer and it's just as good as a CAI.

Trust me, I've owned both cheapies, and name brand CAIs, and name brands, are "by far" better built. The 5.0 has a BBK and I have absolutly no complaints with it, can't say the same about my old ebay CAI on my 98 sixer I had.

The cheaper one is a universal CAI. It doesn't have as good of an air filter, and may require some "tinkering" to make it fit properly. The clamps and hoses will also not be as good as a BBK.

All about the same, I chose BBK because, at the time, they were $10 cheaper than everybody else, but now I believe they all cost the same.

yeah really, theirs no big difference...

I've had a bbk on my 6 and I've put an eBay one on a friends car.
The clamps are all the simple screw clamps, it fit just fine, and it had the blue air filter which is fine.
