Default 4.3 Kit

If I were to install a 4.3 stroker kit on an all stock engine, would it hold up? Would the heads hold up until I could get them upgraded? I'm thinking about 8.7 compression.

4.3 stroker...

I don't think you could call that stock anymore. Yes you can get lower CR pistons.

Kit is gonna run you 1.75k

You planning on running boost with that CR i'm guessing?

Yeah, that's what I was looking at. I'll eventually run boost, yes. I'm thinking about a turbo.

So if I installed the 4.3 Kit with stock everything else, would it be ok?

id save up a bit more and get the headwork done at the same time, save a few bucks on the install while the engine is apart.

I'd do it all at once. An N/A car with that low a CR will be a pain to tune and drive until you get a blower on it.

Would it be worth it to hold out for 8.7 CR or could I get away with big boost with the 9.2 CR?

How "big" are you thinking?
9s will be easier.

It's hard to say. I can't really decide if I want a race car or a DD. I guess I'm trying to make it as a DD until I have the money to make it F/I race car.

What would be a streetable/in progress set up?

I'd go with ahigher CR if you plan on running it N/Aon the street for an extended period of time.
You'll still be able to make a lot of power with boost on it. 9.5or so would work.
