Default uh oh

What my mom told me today almost sent shivers down my spine. She called me and told me that her car is over heating(btw its a 96 coupe). The first thing i asked was is the coolent level normal? she told me it is. So then I asked her if her air conditioner was on. She told me no. She also told me that the weirdest thing is happening. She turns on the heater and it blows cold air.... This gave me a flasback to when i had a 90 tbird and that happened and it was blown headgaskets. So my question now is, IS ther any sure way to check if the headgaskets are blown?

not much else of a way really unless the leak is painfully obvious

well that definately sounds like a blown head gasket, but you can do a compression check. That way you can confirm where your leak is if money is a factor. But if I were you I would just do both head gaskets and rebuild the top half anyways. And finally, now is a good time to modify. I know this is your mom's car but even ladies like to have fun in their cars. Maybe 10-15more hp wouldn't hurt much.

Yeah im not going to go full bore and replace headgaskets again. That was the biggest pain in the ***(on my tbird) Im going to check and make sure the thermostat is functional today and also make sure that the radiator fan isnt bein retarded.

If head gaskets have to be replaced, install Felpro Race gaskets. You'll never have a head gasket prob again.....unless you crack or warp the shizz out of a head.
