Default Just a quick question

Hey folks,

I have a 2005 mustang v6 automatic. I was changing my oil this weekend, and honestly, I'm not sure how I did this, but I drained my transmission fluid. And as you all should know, you cannot add transmission fluid. You have to take it to a place that has some sort of special pump or something because they put transmission fluid in through the drain plug. I was just wondering if anyone out there has ever done this on accident, or am I alone on this one?

If it's an automatic you should be able to fill the tranny through the dipstick tube.

How in the world do you accomplish something like that. I have done some pretty ****ed up things while messing around with my car but I have never "accidently" drained my tranny. lmao

I will give you major points for draining your tranny unintentionally while changing your oil.[8D]

When I worked at Valvoline I accidently took the tranny filter off a Saturn instead of the oil filter. Lost about a pint of fluid and the filter was pretty messed up b/c I used the wrench on it but I just put it back on lol.

Lol. I know that this is pretty funny. and to X and moontang, the 2005 v6s dont have a transmission dipstick. there is no way for you to add any transmission fluid, if you even want the transmission fluid checked, you have to take it to a dealership, and they have to hook up some fancy computer to it, and then they get a read out of how much you have, and they add transmission fluid through the drain plug!!!! That seems like a way to just make money to me, but i still love my stang!!!!!
