An intake spacer will add 6 or 7 lbs of torque and a couple ponies.

Intake spacers are different from throttle body spacers, they actually do add a little power unlike TB spacers.

With bolt ons your gains are going to be very minimal, and you'll spend a nice wad of money on mods that just will not have much yield, such as around $1000 just to get up to 180 rwhp with bolt ons. The best way would be to get a supercharger. They don't spool up until around 2000 RPMs, so that way under normal driving, you'll still get the same daily drivability with the potential for much more. They will not yield a lot low end wise, but they will yield power and torque where you need it, the middle/upper power band.

V M P is still alive and kickin'.

As for long tubes, they'll kill your low end tq. Not sure where you got the idea they'll help.

So, can you explain why longtubes are good? Is it more for the uppper part of the power band?

thats correct. it kind of shifts your power band to make more power in the upper rpm range. usually, the gains are worth losing a lil bit on the low end..and if you go boost or nitrous, youll need to have the larger exhaust, starting with the headers, to really get rid of the burnt stuff quickly.
