I know most of you very much dislike Independent Rear Suspention set-ups. Mostly for their poor drag launch capibility but I happen to have a 98 3.8L T-bird with an IRS and I enjoy the smooth ride given byan IRS. Is it possible to transfer this set-up to one of my 'stangs without alot, or preferably any modifications?

I have been considering doin this swap also. I have a 98 too. lol I want to do it for handling reasons rather than ride quality though. From what I have looked at it looks pretty involved but if you haveok mechanical skills and some common sensethen I don't think it should be too hard. Have you ever switched out a rear end on any other car? I thought it looked like a more involved rear end swap. I asked about it on here a few weeks ago and the few people who answered me said that it wasn't the easiest swap but it wasn't to terribly hard either.

No, T Bird rears are too far different. If you want IRS, it's got to come out of the 99 or 03-04 Cobra.
