need for speed!!!!
want to get upgrade the 2.3l. I have a turbo and exhaust manifold from an 88 t bird. so many have told me it was impossible to put turbo on stock 2.3L. If i put a 302 in, what changes am I going to have to make,(transmission ect.) May have to sell the turbo and exhaust manifold what's it worth?
Would it be easier to build a 2.3l turbo or put in a 302?

ive asked the same questions before as well, wondering about a turbo. what i found out is, you need to bore the stock 2.3L out so that it has a lower compression ratio. the engine in the SVO mustangs was a 2.4L instead of a 2.3L from the LX so that it could have a lower compression ratio. basically, if you are looking for raw american muscle power, go with the 5.0L. if you want the satisfaction of knowing you have something much more unique, and that gives a jump when the turbo starts giving you that boost, go with the turbo. its all a matter of what your prefrence is. also to convert to a 5.0L you need a engine obviously, a wiring harness, a tranny, a driveshaft, a rear end, and springs are recomended, also a guage cluster is important. you may need better tires too depending on how fast you want to go.
