hes right have autozone read the code or any parts store but dont let them bull **** into buying things you might not need. we was good at that i used to run an autozone, yup we hired the best lol not
bet the code will be o2 sensor or egr valve

Stop spreading that a/c drip bullcrap.

Wtf do you mean bullcrap?

That is the problem, the a/c does DRIP right on the mainfold and causes it to weakend and crack over time.....

So buy now its weak. No ac on in the cold (good job) its already worked its evil magic....

It could be a crap oil filter that doesn't have a properly functioning anti-drainback valve. If you're using fram oil filters, their valves suck and fail, so it may just be tapping from lack of lubrication after sitting, hence whyit goes away when the engine warms up, the oil's had a chance to move up an lubricate it.

if it taps when he first starts the car, its unlikely that its any problem with the AC... aside from that, it would keep tapping rather then stopping...

my vote is to get a oil change, and a oil filter change

i had the same problem. i talked to my automotive instructor and he said it was mostlikely the rocker arms clicking against the pushrods. this is what i did and it worked excellently! carbon is a natural build up in all cars. to remove it this is what he suggusted. do an oilchange but when you go to put oil back in the car put transmittion fluid in. tranny fluid is a detergent so it will clean your rocker arms. once oilchange is completed start car and let run for about five minn at idol DONT get anyhigher than 2 rpm. after you let it run perform a natural oilchange. (look at the tranny fluid wooohhhh that was in your engine!!?)

it could also be worn injectors. mine has 86k on it an it is ticking. sounds like its comin from around the intake manifold so im assuming its injectors.
