Spring break, mod time! (56k Warning!)
So it's been spring break for me this week and I've been getting a bunch of mods in! I installed fog lights, HID's for my headlights and the fogs and got it all wired clean, painted some interior pieces, fixed my HVAC colors and made them white to match my gauges, painted my new 8.8 rear with 3.55's and right now I have the old rear end out and I'm getting ready to put the new one in! I've got some interior map/dome lights coming in along with some led's to finish up my interior white/red theme, and hopefully tomorrow or the day after I'll be heading to a local shop to get an O/R H-pipe fabbed up! It's been a busy week so far but it's been such a fun one doing all of it on my own, I feel accomplished! Here's some pics of the installs and what I got in, I was too into my work to get too many or enough for a guide, sorry!

Bumper off for the HID ballast mounting

Here's a picture of the ballasts mounted on the interior bumper support, had to use cobalt bits to drill through that sucker!

Finished install!

HVAC's in white! Just need to make some red inserts for the *****.

Painting the pieces

Finished! Lookin' good!

And the big piece, the lovely '04 Mach 1 8.8 Rear! All painted and ready to put up!

What kind of paint did you use for the interior pieces? How long did you wait for them to dry? You have to be careful with painting interior pieces. They can get a bit tricky, I speak from experience.

Your interior looks really clean too. You definitely need a short shifter. I forgot how high the stock shifter sits. They will make driving the car a lot more fun too.
I like the lights, they are pretty impressive.
Good job. I think you did more mods this week than most people ever do, and you did them all yourself. Double Kudos.

For the interior I used a silver acrylic paint, it was pretty cooperative for all the pieces except the shifter bezel where it wanted to keep bubbling up no matter how much I cleaned it so I had to keep using super light coats and using steel wool after it dried for an hour or so. I actually do have a Steeda Tri-Ax installed, one of my very first mods, haha, it probably just looks like it's sitting higher because of the angle I took the picture at, it does make the car much more fun to drive.
For the rear end though I ran into a problem last night. I have the new rear all mounted up and everything was going good until I came back to the brakes. Well, this rear end was out of a Mach 1 and when I bought this, they only came with rotors and no calipers, so I tried mounting my calipers and rotors on, but the backing plate on the ends makes the caliper sit out farther to accommodate the larger Mach 1 rotor and it looks like the only way to take out the backing plate is to pull the axles... [:@] So I think I have to let the stang sit up in the air in the garage for about a week while I get the money to buy some bigger calipers and rotors for the back.

i had a short throw shifter installed on my old four banger, and it still sat a little high for my taste, so i took a saw to it, shaved off another inch and a half or so. looked pretty custom afterwards. something to think about, lol.
Hmm, I'm actually pretty happy with the way this one sits, but I'll keep that in mind! As for the interior, I wasn't even ever really thinking about painting it until I saw someone else post up about it and saw it looked really clean, so I did it! Now I just gotta wait for the next paycheck to pick up some Mach 1 rear calipers and I'm set!
