Default Gear ratios for highway driving?

everyone says get the 4.10's for an auto. I have a auto but i also do a lot of freeway driving everyday. what would be a better gear ratio to make my stang faster without pushing up the rpm's and destroying my MPG's when i'm cruising at 75mph???

Then drop to a lower gear, come on you knew that. 3.73's put me at arround 2350-2400 at 70mph

If i understand gears right it will not "destroy" your MPG. You will notice all little dip in MPG but not enought to really worry about. Maybe 1 or 2 miles less per gallon...maybe Im wrong but I dont think I am. You could do 3.73 for an auto but that is going to make your first gear a very short gear.

You don't need one even with the 4.10's, but i makes since to do them at the same time so you don't have to pay someone twice to do the labor inside the rear end.

i guess my reply didnt go through.

the 3.73's wouldnt make your first gear shorter then 4.10- it would be longer. with 3.73 you would lose maybe 2-3mpg TOPS at highway. you might actually gain some around town. go for it, its worth it!

Yeah I decided to get the 3.73's. Seems like they would add a boost and also stay within reason for my DD. Do you recommend getting a LSD for those gears?
