Intermittent Starting Problems
I own a 98 Mustang with a V6 engine. I've had it for three years and from time to time when I turn the key in the ignition, there is no response. I know it isn't my battery because when I jam my foot against the accelerator and try starting the car again, it appears to 'fix' it. This problem is COMPLETELY random. Under normal circumstances, it starts great and runs great. Engine temperature nor weather conditions make a difference. It doesn't matter how long it's been since I drove it, either. Sometimes it happens when I've only had the car off for 20 mins. Other times I haven't driven it fortwoweeksand it starts fine! Can someone PLEASE help??
No clue.... I suppose i can offer a few suggestions... It almost sounds as if there is a blockage or something in the fuel line. Perhaps a clogged fuel filter? I would start there.
Do you have a manuel or auto? I had something similar and it was a problem with the clutch not engaging when I push it all the way in. It didnt do it all the time, just some of the time, and I would just have to let the clutch out, and push it back in and it works like a charm. Good luck
