Any reason you want too? It would cost you quite a bit of money to have someone do it unless you can do the install yourself. When you firm up the shift points it will make the auto a much more fun car to drive.

Im more of manual person, i like it cause its more than brake, gas and go. I just like the more control that you get out of haveing a 5 speed.

Stang-Rage, Are you on All ford Mustangs? Or am I thinking of someone else? lol

I like having a 5 spd. too, but their are definitely times when I wish that I could have an auto. I have been looking at getting an auto for my next car because the city driving that I do everyday gets real old real fast with the manual.

I used to feel that way as well. GiddyupGo pointed out that you can use the auto like a manual in the sense that you can shift it yourself.

Try it.

From a stop sign, put it in '1' as you accelerate, just push up on the shifter, no need to push the button on the shifter, just push up. Each gear 'clicks' into place. If the RPMs drop below 1500-2000 while deceleratingI drop it down a gear by pulling the shifter down to the next lower gear. (going from D to 3 does require a button push) It does the same things as down-shifting

In rush hour I leave it 2nd most of the time so if I need to I can merge with traffic or pop over to the next lane without the auto lag and indecicivness of the tranny.

At this point, I would not go back to manual

but if i would just pop it in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear with an auto trans. is that not bad for it.

Well im on this and Mustang World but thats it, so you might be mistaking me or he other person, now going back to this postI like manula too on different occasions, if im on the road by my self thanI rather have manual but if Im with friends or family or a bunch of peopleI wold like auto. but OverallI preffer Manual. now there are new cars out there now with 5 speed shifting included into auto trans. so that might be my next move, but time will tell.
