02 lowering kit
Do not lower your car with an eibach kit and keep your factory struts/shocks!!!! I did just that and now I'm having to pay to have lowering shocks put in. The rebound is not correct and the lower springs will keep them too compressed with not enough range of motion. They will begin to fail, not to mention ride like hell. Get used cobra bilsteins. I saw an auction for all 4 go off on ebay for 270.

lol @ 400 bucks for a rough ride.. My car rides smooth as hell and it didn't cost me anything but a wheel for my angle grinder. Oh well enjoy your shiny new springs.

Cutting stock springs is pretty much not a good idea. The V6 springs do not have a very good spring rate and it does nothing for handling purposes.
H&R springs are very good quality springs and I would recommend them over Eibach, but they are a little bit more expensive than some other springs as well.
With the stock shocks/struts it is not a very fun ride at all with a lowered vehicle. I personally think that my car has a more comfortable ride with the Mach 1 shocks/struts than with the stock V6 shocks/struts. The V6 shocks made the ride very very bumpy. They justwanted to go up and down non-stop every time I hit a bump. The Mach 1 shocks helped to stiffen up the ride a bit and didn't make me feel like I was in a van every time I hit a bump.
You will probably need a bumpsteer kit and cc plates if you are going for a 2 inch drop though.
Go and read the write-up I did, specifically on this. I even have in there the facts about cutting vs buying.

Ryan- Is that your car? How do the Bilstein's shocks handle? I have been wondering about getting them and I didn't know if it was worth it to upgrade from the Mach 1's I have now.
I still don't really agree with the handling aspect of the stock springs, especially for auto-crossing or the like. I could see it being ok for dragging the car but not really for a car that is supposed to be stiff to handle well.

Bilstein BTS springs are a total waste of money. They actually raised my car about an inch. Using the cutting method you get a very good auto-x spring rate that really isn't all too harsh. I've been riding on cut springs for almost 2 years, and not a single issue to date.
I need to order some new spring isolators since I accidently left off my front lowers and my rears were in pretty bad shape when I was doing the write up, so now I get a lot of squeeking.

That's odd. I always heard that the Bilsteins were a good set to go with. Oh well. It's not like I need to waste money on a part that I already have. lol
I guess if you are going for a spring that isn't harsh for a dd set-up and give youbetter handlingthen it could be good. I don't really care about the ride comfort in my car though, I would rather have the actual lowering springs that are made for the purpose of getting the car to handle. JMO
