Japanese Power
I have a 96 v6, Its a japanese import to uk, my dad tells me he read on some other forum that the jap v6 was restricted as to horsepower and torque. Unfortunatly he cant remember where he read it. i was just wondering if any of you guys knew if that was true, and how exactly i would need to go about rectifying it.
Thanks
Ben
Thanks
Ben
There should be no restriction, they were all made in the Chicago Ford factory, and were all made to the same specs, then a handfull were shiped to other countries. Your car should still have the stock 150 bhp it came with. Hell, restrict the power and the damn thing would only run worse MPG wise lol.
thanks guys i was getting rather [:@] thinking i had bought a "slower" v6.
it seemed strange that they would do something like that but people are always blowing us off here..think the uk cant handle the horses.
many thanks youve made my day

All SN-95 were assembled at Ford's Rouge Facility in Dearborn, Michigan
if anything thats backwards, Japan traditionally gets the big boy version of cars and north america (more America than Canada even) gets the more user friendly version. They get Porsche GT3R's which basically won LeMans to run on the street. The real Mitsu EVO's, not the crappy version (which isn't even that crappy) we get, theres more but im not going to get in to it. I think the problem is is that drivers tests are too easy in north america, everyone treats it like its their right to drive, not a priveledge. EVERYONE has a friend you will not drive with because the fact that they've survived this long behind the wheel is a slap in the face to darwin, I think thats the system letting us down letting them keep their liscence.
Oops i missed the UK part of your tag, this whole post is moot. But Steve Coogan is a genius.

yea the way people get their licences and keep them is amazing. I just got a DUI on the 29th of March. I know you guys are gonna say things like "driving drunk is stupid" and "wow your a dumb***" but just hold on. I had 3 beer and 3 hours later i got pulled over and blew a .035. the licence issuer changed a whole buncha crap right before i got my licence so everyone now cant drive around with more than one person for 6 months after they get their licence and then 12 months of probationary driving with zero tolerance to alcohol. its retarded cause i know of people that had drank like 12 -15 beer that night and they got pulled over and they got a warning. so now my stang has to sit in front of my house and i gotta walk everywhere for a month. and i know that i only got a DUI cause of my last name. my brother lost his licence 3 months after having it for stunting and a bunch of other tickets. so i guess the cops are out to get me but i rarely get pulled over.

but i dunno...but ill give you a bump.
