or should i just get the sts
and the 8.8 rear end gears and lock

is the gt and the cobra rear end similar

 

i really kinda want the 6 speed tranny

that's not a very good reason to get one. i would just beef up your rear end and get some gears.

 

no the cobra and GT rear ends are not similar well the termi arent at least the termis are IRS and unless your building an autoX car i would stick with the 8.8 get one off a junked GT and build it

 

1- yes. but you dont have the power to use that 6th gear to its potential, nor maintain speed uphill on highways. not worth the money to swap it in.
2- STS? english please.
3- NO. they are called 8.8 and 7.5 for a reason- the ring gear size. wont fit. you could swap in the whole rearend(housing, axles, differential), but you would be better off with a locker and gears for you 7.5 at this point.

as for IRS, it would bolt in. but 900 bucks could be best spend elsewhere at this point.
