Default Gears

I want the best bang for my buck but dont really want to go with anything as tall as the 4:10's. I was debating between 3:55 and 3:73 when I found a 3:45 on ebay brand new real cheap. My question is are these gears any good? I have never ever heard of 3:45 gears. Any input on what I should do would be appreciated. The setup im lookin at is a new supercharged 3.8L with the m90 supercharger and I plan on adding a 5spd. Thanks guys

3.45 is for V6s, 3.55s are for cars/V8s with the 8.8" rear end, you have a 7.5" which only takes 2.73 (94-98), 3.24 (99-04), 3.45, 3.73, and 4.10, there are steeper gears, however, they are specialty and aren't as common as those listed.

I really loved having 3.55's, I'm about to get them again from a Mach, we're gonna trade rear ends when he goes to get his 3.73's.

I hated 4.10's.

I think 3.55's are good "all-around" gear.

i'd rather have 3.55s or maybe 3.27 than 3.73... i also have 600RWHP though so first gear is useless with 3.73.

So then is it true what jthorn9 said that I cant have a 3:55 gear for the 7.5 rear end?? If that is true should I go with the 3:73 or the 3:45??

Hahaha....lol, my 3.55s already make first gear nearly useless, and I have far less than you power wise, couldn't even imagine a steeper gear with a manual.

For a 7.5" rear you need to look into the gear options I listed. For a near stock car 3.73s are going to give you more umph during accelleration, however, the more mods you add, the less and less of a first gear you'll have. 3.45s are just a tad more aggressive than stock. You're not getting that much, however you will have a much freeer feeling first gear. For your stock 7.5" rear, I'd look into 3.73s unless you're dead set on the 3.45s, however if you have the money to upgrade to an 8.8" rear then I'd deffinitly look into the 3.55s. www.brothersperformance.com sells fully assemebled rear ends with the gears installed, so all you have to do is drop out the old rear, and install the new.

Sorry, I forgot to mention, I have an 8.8 rear end lol. The 3.45's will be almost the same.

7.5, but you can swap with a gt of the same generation (i.e. 94-98) and its a direct swap
