Default Engine swap help

so i have a 1995 v6 mustang with approx. 190k miles. i found a reasonably cheap 2000 v6 engine and tranny with only 128k miles. will this drop right in? or will i need other parts from the car aside from the engine and tranny?

You will have a lot of wiring to do on your own, you will also need a chip burnt. You will also need to take the DIS shaft/sensor out and put it into the 2000 and re-time it.

Sniper tuning offers a easier way of tuning the EEC-IV modules than having a chip burnt. DIY

You should also upgrade your radiator fan with a 97+ cobra but it is not a need.

Also I would stay far far far away from that engine. Ther is no point in dropping in an engine that has over 50,000 miles, but thats just me.

I did a 2000 swap into my 96' and it was nearly new, I rebuilt the top end too (except heads, head gaskets.) Ported the heads, upper and lower intakes.

You are best off buying a Thunderbird Super Coupe engine or XR7 supercharger 3.8L (Both are the same engine.)

I have to say that with all the money and time I spent on this swap that I am not happy with the power. 200ish horsepower sucks...

The SC will give you a lot more power and there are a lot of mods for it and the supercharger. They are capable of 350rwhp

If you do the SC you will still need the chip or Sniper tuner, you will also need a fuel pump that can deliver what you need.

Being that it is Supercharged there is parasitic loss, so the engine is actually making a bit more horsepower than 350rwhp.

Talk to a shop about your fuel needs.

^^^ Good adivise but if its the OPs DD a supercoupe motor swap might not be the best thing to do simply bc of the amount of time his car would be down trying to get everything in and working. But I secound staying away from an engine with over 50, to 70,000 miles on it.

Good luck,
Matthew

Both swaps will take a while to complete and both will need chips or sniper tuning.
With the SC engine he also wont need to swap the CPS shaft and a few other plugs will be similar to his 95' Not to mention the SC engine uses the same EV1 style fuel injectors his 95' uses.

Best of luck with it all
