Default Making the Nonfunctional Hood Scoop Functional

So I'm sure that this has been asked before, but I'm thinking about drilling holes in the plastic part of my hood scoop. I'd also drill a couple holes in the back of the hood to let some air escape. Stupid idea?

Its not worth it. It doesnt even add power or anything untill you hit like 40 mph. Ontop of that, iot cost a rediculous amount of money

Yeah, I'm not really going for performance. I figure it'll improve my air flow and maybe cool the engine a bit. Mostly I just hate the look of that cheap plastic. I'll definitely post up some pics if I do it

I just first want to make sure that taking off the plastic piece isn't going to mess up any of my electronics or rust out the engine or anything. Has anyone done it before?

Just so you know, the engines we have a liquid cooled. Air won't do anything noticable except mess with your fuel economy by disrupting the air flow around the engine bay even more.

Its fine. I pulled my hood and side ones off. What I did was go down to Home Depot and got some mesh, then panted it to match the trim then made my own. Looks much better. You can also just pull the plastic and paint it and put it back on.
