Default O2 problems

So about two months ago I had MAC LT's installed as well as my cats removed, I love the way they sound. Now for the problem about a week ago the check engine light comes on it comes up as bank #1 O2 sensor Slow Response, I take it to my mechanic and they replace it for me. Well yesterday the light comes on again and its the same problem with the front O2 sensor. I take it to the mechanic and they check and recheck the O2's and they can't find anything worng. We are thinking that since the O2's are located farther back they are getting a delayed signal thus the light comes on. I called VMP Tuning and talked to them and they said if I was to get a tune form them it might solve the problem. Has any body had this problem or have any ideas. I would like to get the tune but $400 dollars is alot expecially if it doesn't work.

well my car is having the same problem. and the light keeps turning on and off randomly. its annoying. i'm getting a tune and it should help with the leaning out due to having long tubes, so im hoping that will shut off the check engine light. but i think the main reason its doing that is because u had to get the extensions so its a farther distance to send the signal from the 02 sensors to the ECU

Could be your sensors going out?

Maybe your mechanic didn't replace it and just deleted the code and told you it was fine. I'de just replace it myself and see what happends.

I've never had a problem with my 02s other than heater but thats because I ripped the wire out when i was splicing.. splicing 02s is bad I finally got smart and bought extentions. FTW!

The O2 was replaced that for sure, and the EGR is all still there. I think its because of the extensions like v6erstang said. I guess I could try getting a tune to see if that fixes it.

I have bbk extensions and have had 0 problems with them. I don't think your problem is there.
