Hi, I was at Advance Auto Parts the other day, and I saw the exhaust tips section. I found one I really liked, but i'm unsure of two things, the diameter of my mustang's tailpipe, as well as how to install.

2004 Mustang V6 3.8l
-Stock Tailpipe/muffler

 

ur probably thinking of the tips that have a few screws to tighten it around the tailpipe

When I first bought mine I couldn't stand the way that little single pipe looked. I took a sawzall to it and trimmed it to where it was still turned down, but didn't hang below the bumper. Made it look a lot better, well at least until I replaced everything lol
