Default noob looking for basic CAI info

I was looking at a cold air intake that I linked to below, and I seem to need a tuner for it to be used properly. the combo set from american muscle that includes a steeda cai and sct x3 tuner seems like a good deal. but is it?

Also is this something that I, a complete noob with literally no experience with cars, could install?

thanks for any help, I bought my '05 v6 mustang because i mean c'mon, it's a mustang, but then I really got into it and I was surprised to find that there are millions of other mustang owners that love their mustangs justlike me.

thanks my pony. How about the price of it though, it seems expensive for only 10-20 horsepower.

under the product description it says

"Want to add more horsepower to your new pony but dont want to pay $640.00 to do so? Help is on the way my friend!"

lol when u read that ur thinkin "yeah im gonna get a good price" then u see that it costs $576 and realise that that isn't 2 much of a difference.... what a way to burst someone's bubble

I just read on the sct x3 online user manual that it is illegal to use a tuner on a car with controlled emmissions. does that mean that I can't legally use the cai and tuner combo on my mustang?

It is also "illegal" to go over 60 in most states.... Ask around here and find out who hold true to that... lol! As for the intake, yes. You can install it yourself. AM has some REALLY easy step by step directions. The tuner... um I have no idea. I do know that most mods on a +05 will need a tune.
