Totally unrelated to this topic... I want a stick so bad... It's just that you guys have all these nooks and crannies that you shift at... lol... I drove my friend's GTI once so I have an idea on how they work. I really wanna get one once I get rid of my 'vert.

I agree with everyone hear. I have raced a couple of friends that also have v6's. Both of them were stick, mine's an auto, and we all had similar mods. Beat 1, lost 1. First guy didn't shift as well, and I got him on the launch, so I beat him. Second guy was a good shifter, ad we both got a good launch. He beat me by a couple of feet. My bumper was about to his front wheels. Practice your launch, that's what won me the first race. Be safe, and have fun. Let us know how it turned out. Oh ya, I have a 2000 vert, the first guy was a 2002 vert, and the second guy was a 2003 vert.

brake torque.

mush brakes.
mush gas.
release brakes on green.

do you guys with sticks really launch that low? I launch between 2500 and 3000 for really hard launch and they're perfect. Tiny tiny wheelspin, no lugging, and I'm off the clutch pretty quickly. Of course, I really don't give a **** about my clutch... Kind of wish it would die so I could put in a racing clutch and a lightweight flywheel, but it's w.e.

No... I've tried launching that low, and for me, it's very inconsistent.

I launch between 2500-3000 usually, and I've managed low 2.2 60's back when the car was virtually stock... stock-ish power, stock rear, stock gears, no t-loc, etc.

&lt\\;DIV&gt\\;He said it well, I basicly power brake. How your car is setup would depend on how high you would rev with the brake mashed. Practice it a couple of times before you use it. That’s how I got a better launch than the other guy, I had practiced it. He did what he should have, but he had never done it before, so I got a better launch.&lt\\;/DIV&gt\\;
