Default headers, x pipe, gears

so, i have a v6 mustang with dual magnaflow exhaust which is already pretty loud...which would make it more loud an x pipe or headers? i love the super loud deep raspy sound.

you think its loud already? i have an o/r midpipe and a lot people think it sounds no louder than a stock v8, which is pretty quiet. but then again i wouldnt really know, ive never heard it in person from outside the car past idle.

well a v8 is going to be naturally louder than a v6, but a good head start would be to get an off-road midpipe and some long tube headers. id just be aware of local emissions laws. you'll be paying or spending time under the car every year swapping your emissions-legal exhaust back on your car to pass inspection if you decide to go that route.

what would do more bang for the buck the off road midpipe or the long tube headers?

an o/r midpipe isnt going to run you more than $200 and definitely offers a more throaty sound, but gets raspy when you start to get into the higher rpm range, which most people dont drive in on a daily basis.

i never thought of mags to be raspy. at least not compared to a chambered muffler.

Chambered mufflers generally aren't reaspy on our cars. Magnaflows(straight through) are.

If you want louder just do an O/R h pipe and be done with it, long tubes will sound like poo poo with Mags unless you're camed. If you insist on headers, even though they won't do squat, then stay with shorties with Mags.
