My buddy has a 1997 3.8 Mustang and he cannot turn off his daytime running lights, even once the key has been taken out of his ignition and is now in his pocket. He pulled the fuse, but is now selling the car and was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this problem. Any reply is greatly appreciated.

 

he has daytime running lights on his 97 mustang? weird. mine is a 98, i didnt know that was an option. in fact, i dont think ive ever seen a mustang with drls.

 

Yea, he bought one of those "repair manuals" when he dropped a new motor in last thanksgiving weekend and in there it says they all have them since 92 or 94 I believe, but right now he's wishing they never had them.

 

Uh, I've never seen a stang with DRL's and I used to work for Ford. Tell your buddy to start tracing his wiring, something may have been added and is now malfunctioning. The only other thing I could see would be the headlight switch.

 

I actually have a 1997 3.8 Mustang and I dont have that as an option on my car...wish I did though, I know they come on the thunderbirds...
