accel coil, 8.5 msds, and ngk IXs for the win! gotten better mpgs, and a much smoother idle. cant even tell the car is running at idle.

 

I see that companies claim hp gain from spark plugs and wires, is this actually true?

 

No, the only time you get gains is because your old plugs are bad and aren't firing properly, and the new plugs are, therefore you're gaining your original power back.

Best thing is just stock copper tips by motorcraft. Avoid anything by Bosch, my Bosch alternator just went out on the 5.0 (came with the car), so I just slaped on a custom 200 AMP chrome Powermasters instead. Inshort Bosch = degrading cow manuer.

 

Not really for a stock V6, unless you have upgraded FI.

 

Good lord, the money you just wasted to do a simple tune up on a stock car.

But I heard there's no need for IX Iridums with stock injectors, stock fuel pump.

 

No need to upgrade the ignition at all unless you're moded out the wazoo or F/I.

 

just dont get the crap 20 dollar wires from orielly or autozone. get some 8mm or better accells or something. i like the accell wires because they arent too much money but they aint crap either. I'm running a screamin deamon coil pack for less than 80. i'm also running stock plugs (coppers like the other guys are saying) and i'm happy with it all

..on my 04 3.9..keeps the spark intensity of 0-45 all the way to 115 baby!!!...i wouldnt buy anything else

 

oh yea..and gap those suckers at .065...oh yea she can handle it
