Default confused

I have bought a 08 v6 mustang as a play around car and I am looking at adding performance parts to it. I was wondering if there is a certain order I should go in with the parts. I know I could add most parts whenever but I have been told I should do the headers and exhaust (cat-back)at the same time to prevent problems with later installs. I would take advice on brands, what to do just about anything you guys can offer. I am not looking to race but I do want speed and fun. I also do not have time to do most work myself with the exception of cold air and quicker bolt ons cause i work as a firefighter and on an ambulance.

Any advice would be awesome.

You'll need to get a tuner, the new Mustangs need a tuner for almost anything. If you plan on super/turbo charging then don't waste your money on a Cold Air Intake...

Ok, good to know about cold air intakes. So will I have any troubles adding performanceheaders after I add a custom exhaust?

Im no specialist, but Im sure everone on here will suggest to go ahead and do headers and custom exhaust all at the same time. It will save you down time and labor costs.

Can't help you there, sorry. I don't have any experience with S197's, but check out some of the videos on youtube. Just remember the cameras used vary from video to video, but it will give you some knowledge on popular brands and setups.

^^^ what he said. get the whole exhaust done at once, get a cai and tuner package from someone like americanmuscle.com, have them custom tune it to your liking, and leave it at that for now. thatll add a nice sound, a gain, and better throttle response. if you decide you need more power later, i wouldnt worry so much about small bolt ons...save and go for a forced induction package. or if you are interested in improving the handling, work on wheels/tires/suspension/brakes...those things will give you more of a dollar for dollar gain than adding small bolt ons.

good luck!
