Default Traction Control

I got my 2000 3.8 a few weeks ago and its still a project. I noticed it has traction control button that im assuming works as it lights up. Well my car didnt come with a owners manual. Whats the purpose of the TC and when should I use it or all the time? Im guessing maybe for snow or rain?

Default RE: Traction Control

If I'm correct when the light's on, the TC is turned off. Mine says "TC off" on the button, so pressing it is gonna turn it off. Btw, I have to press it and have the light on to do a burnout if that tells you anything.

*edit*.... IMO the TC on our cars sucks. If you spin the wheels in the rain, it'll bog you down and you lose more control over your car. If I slide/get loose in the rain I don't hit the brakes, but just drive out of it by playing with the throttle. (I have less than 1/4" of tread left tho ) Just turn it off right after you start the car and buckle up.

Yeah It's annoying as hell, I just used my tuner to turn it off all the time.
