Default help

so i installed the tri-ax shifter and its great but i hear way too much of my engine and road while driving, i know that the stock shifter uses the piece shown in the first picture to help with noise. what can i do to fill these gaps that are shown in the second picture?

Before attaching the shifter handle, I took the stock piece (picture 1) and stretched it over the shifter (as it was over the stock one). This helps isolate road/exhaust noise, air, derbis, etc. from the cabin. IMHO, there's no way you should drive without this.

hahahaha...I don't want to ask who's an idiot here. Just go to the junkyard man, they must have this part, and is probably cheap! Even in the most wrecked Stang this part should be fine.

Well, the good thing is you learned a lesson(at least I hope you did), NEVER throw ANYTHING away until you know for sure you don't need it. Chalk it up to experience.

Just go snag one at the dealer, they're cheap, and the new one won't be dried out or nothing.

Owell, it happens, go get one from the dealer as suggested by Ryan, you have a new shifter, might as well get a new rubber seal too! [8D]
