Default Problem with Tach/shift light

I have eveything hook up, and I tapped into the yellow/tan wire on my ignition coil pack....and on my tach the needle at idel is at 200 rpms..And when I rev and I am at like 3 or 4 grand its only at 1k on my tach...And yes I made sure it was set on 6 cylinder...If you know anything about this problem please help me....And do I need an adapter to make it work???[:@]

no, you don't need an adapter. I still need to look up the wire for ya. I'm pretty sure you tapped into the wrong one. I'll let you know tonight sometime.
