Default seized engine?

Hey guys its my first post up and I wish it was on better terms but I was driving home today and my car started to act like the transmission was slipping and i started to have some smoke coming out of the exhaust. I turned it off and saw oil coming out of the exhuast pipe and oil all over the engine bay. I noticed it was pretty much out of anti freeze even though the overflow looked fine. Could my water pump have died on me and caused that? the coolent pipe from the engine was hot and the return was still cold any ideas?? thanks

Sounds like your thermostat went bad and stuck shut and you blew the head gaskets. Not a cheap repair if thats what it is.

yea thats what im afraid of the engine temp was fine I was watching that one and It barely lost oil pressure taking it home. Im thinkin of just swapping the engine overall would that work with any major issues I paid 4 grand for the car and the body is in perfect shape just this happened I have had it for a few months.

ok the guy workin on it for me called and it was a head gastet. Im just gonna rebuild the engine becuase all the parts are fine. The water pump and thermostat are fine but when the previous owner had a block heater installed (im from ND) it leaked antifreeze and when i ran it a little to fast down the highway i think thats what pushed it over the edge finally. should run about 1400 for the total rebuild. thanks for the help guys.
