hi i JUST recently joined here and im tryin 2 get sum help on what to do. iv gotta 98 black v6 stang..shes not bad for my first car but since shes a v6 im lookin 2 add a little more ponies under the hood. i dont rilly wanna go into superchargers and turbos unless its pretty much the last thing i can do. iv gotta upr intake and lookin 2 buy a flowmaster duals kit but other than that im tryin 2 find wut i can do 2 add a lil more horsepower w/o droppin a few thousand bucks on a sc or turbo.. can sumbody help me figure out wut 2 do??

thanx but im not rilly sure id like 2 have around 200 or 250 right now but it seems like a long shot

 

If you are shooting for 250 ish at the wheels, you'll spend more onbolt ons than just going with a power adder right away. A Super Coupe swap might be your best bet.

The Thunderbird Super Coupe came with a similar 3.8L motor. It featured a forged low compression bottom end, updated heads with more cooling ports and an intercooled Eaton M90 supercharger on top. Made ok hp and awesome tq. If you look enough, you can find the whole motor for between $600-$800. Different years offered different features - like pulley size, blower inlet etc....

 

thanx ill start lookin cuz as much as i love a mustang, v6's can deff b talked down upon and i kno sumone whos had a gtr and is gettin a saleen and i just wanna show him that a v6 can b bad *** 2..ill deff start lookin for one but duz it keep like all the main hookups that the car actually has or duz all that have 2 b changed?

 

It's pretty much a straight swap. You'll want a larger fuel pump and want a tune once it is all in.
