Default EGR problem, P0401

So after i was sputtering for a day or so this code popped up. The sputtering only happens at part throttle and it's more noticable in the lower gears. The passanger side of the engine bay is also hotter than the driver side. Any ideas yall?

And i have longtube headders.

if its the egr, you could always delete it with the vmp kit, and get it turned off with a tuner...

On my stang, it was running rough at idle (engine changing rpms, missing, etc). It threw a p1000 code... Basically the computer thought the egr valve needed to be opened at low throttle (not half or WOT)...So the engine was getting exhaust air at idle, wonder if that could be the case with you....just a thought

p1000 code is for obd2 diagnostics not completed, not for egr. this code comes up when the emissions tests for all the systems are not completed(means nothing). p0401 is egr insufficient flow detected, first check the 2 rubber hoses the come from the tube that connects to the erg valve to make sure they are connected. if they are than 99.9% of the time the dpfe sensor is to blame. the dpfe sensor is the sensor that the 2 rubber hoses that come off the egr tube connect to. to check that, get a vacuum pump and pull a vacuum on the valve with the engine running, if it stalls its for sure the dpfe sensor.
